Boots and Blues, Fundraiser for Public Outdoor Art

Feelin' the Heat, 36x24 in. acrylics on 1.5 in. deep gallery wrap canvas

There's an exciting art event coming up that I'm involved with and I wanted to share it with you! My painting Feelin' the Heat will be up for auction at a public art fundraiser.

The downtown area of  Cary NC - my current hometown - has been undergoing a massive revitalization. Part of this will be achieved through colorful and uplifting outdoor murals, sponsored by Cary Visual Arts (CVA).

The first mural project has been approved by the Town of Cary and the kickoff is Boots and Blues, Saturday night, March 30th, to raise funds which will underwrite the mural. The muralist is local artist Sean Kernick. He'll present color renderings of the mural that evening at the event.

The party will be a blast, complete with food, drinks and a blues band, the Honky Tonk Outlaws. It will also feature an art auction, with over 16 fabulous works of local talented artists. I am honored to be one of them!

Public art is a very worthy cause! Even if you can't come to this event, you can still support it -

Some of the other artists with work in the auction are Paulette Wright, Nancy Kempf, Karen Wylie-Eberle, Lyudmila Lucy Tomova, Jaimon Caceres,

Join us if you can!
