Welcome to the hot, sticky days of summer... doesn't the title of the painting above say it all?
I hate to admit it, but it has been more than 2 months since my last newsletter! Sometimes life just has different ideas.... but anyway here I am again! 🙌🏼
My current project is getting ready for the Village Art and Craft Fair in Biltmore Village, Asheville NC on August 4th and 5th. This is my biggest show of the year, and it's always a scramble in the few weeks prior to make enough inventory!
When: Saturday Aug 4th, 10 - 7; Sun Aug 5th, Noon - 5
Where: Grounds of Cathedral of All Souls, Asheville, NC.
Admission is free to this high quality show, with 114 artists from 16 states showing a wide variety of art and craft.
The church sells homemade sandwiches and sweets throughout the day (they're really tasty!) with proceeds benefiting the Cathedral's Outreach program.
I'll be in booth #13, near the intersection of Angle St. and All Souls Crescent. If you don't live in the Asheville area but have friends who do, please share this with them!
Thanks to an invitation from Cary Visual Art - an organization that promotes local artists - I now have a solo show in Reflection Gallery at WakeMed Hospital in my hometown of Cary NC. I painted like a mad lady when I could in May and June, to have some new and larger pieces ready for this!
My paintings will be up until September 30th, and you cn visit any time since the hospital is always open! WakeMed is at the corner of Kildaire Farm and Tryon Rds. To find the gallery - from the main lobby, veer right towards Surgical Services, then left down a long corridor which is the gallery!
Not to be left out, new jewelry is also in progress, as most of my previous stash has been sold! 👏🏼😃
I haven't had time to list any new stuff on my website yet, but let me know if you'd like to snazz up your wardrobe with any of the miniature works of art below!
When I came across these colored pendant trays and multicolor cords I just had to buy them! I think they set off my painted pieces in a fun way! The pendants are about 1" across and the cords are 18" long.
These pendants are bigger at 1-1/4"; chains are 22". The earrings are 5/8".
There are a lot more that I'm working on... more photos to come soon!
