Sometimes I wish my bright ideas would come sooner! Just last week as I was sorting through my jewelry and deciding what supplies I needed for my next show, I was looking at that orange-y owl pendant in the photo above and I thought, “Hey… Halloween! All the orange-and-black decorations and lights are out… I should make some Halloween jewelry!” 🔆💡
So I’ve been doing a marathon of painting, cutting, glueing, photographing, uploading… and now they’re finally in my online Halloween Bling shop. Whew!
The video below is a brief time lapse of me creating an acrylic skin for jewelry by pouring paints into a dish and swirling and blowing the colors around. I then have to wait several days for the thick layers of paint to dry before I can peel the painted skin out of the dish.
I then look for interesting patterns, cut my circle pendant and earring shapes out, and glue them securely into nickel- and lead-free metal settings.
Of course you don’t have to restrict these pieces to Halloween - they’ll work great with your fall wardrobe if you wear earth tones. And if your favorite sports team wears these colors, they’ll make a statement on game day as well!
The photo doesn’t show all the new pieces I made - click the button to see the whole collection.
When: Saturday November 10th, 10 - 4.
Where: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church,
