Asheville, NC - One of my favorite places. This coming weekend, August 6th and 7th, is the Village Art and Craft Fair in historic Biltmore Village. This is the show's 44th year and is one of the more popular shows in the southeast. Whenever shoppers come into my booth, I ask them where they're from, and they really do come from all over!
The show takes place on the beautiful grounds of the Cathedral of All Souls (which is worth a visit in itself!). Show hours are Saturday, 10 - 7 and Sunday 12 - 5.
I've been busy painting and felting scarves for the show - here are a few of my new nuno felted pieces.
These two scarves - more like shawls, really - started with a base of very sheer silk chiffon, onto which I felted merino wool and silk fibers. Including the dangles, these shawls measure about 15" x 70"-80" a nice, generous size.
Sometimes you don't need a whole lot of scarf, you just want a smaller accent piece! These narrower scarves are still enough to keep you warm and provide a good shot of style! They are only about 7" wide.
In spite of the wool, these nuno felted scarves are very lightweight and can be worn almost year round.
Come visit beautiful Ashevillle - you'll find me in Booth #13 at the show - see the maps below!
