Well the long hours of studio work that Elizabeth Lee and I have been devoting to creating new work for our show are finally coming to an end!
Sky Touching Earth opens on Friday March 25th, 6 - 9 pm at Village Art Circle Gallery, in Ashworth Village, 200 S. Academy St., Cary NC 27511.
- During the Opening I'll be showing you some creative ways to wear your scarf at 7:30 pm!
- We'll have wine and light refreshments and live music by cellist Sonny Enslen.
- The show runs through April 27th.
- Gallery Hours are Wednesday to Saturday 11 - 5.
While most of my scarves will be hung from the ceiling - like in my previous show Flowing - I'll also have some on the walls, hung as triptych wallhangings.
The triptychs can be hung in your home from a rod with clips, and they flutter gently when your heating or air comes on, or even when you just walk by them. Interactive art!
Of course, you can also make a statement by wearing them individually as scarves!
Here are two more of Liz's stacks of white dishes... again, she has created the most interesting and colorful shadows as she interprets the light hitting the dishes at different times of day.
Liz and I hope you'll be able to join us for this eclectic show!
A word about parking for the show - Academy St. is undergoing a lot of construction, but don't let that deter you! If Ashworth Village lot is full, there is plenty of extra parking directly across Academy St. on Waldo St., and across Chatham St. behind Fidelity Bank. If you don't mind a 5 minute walk, you can also park at the Library, a little further south on Academy St.
