With my show season over until next spring, now I get to catch up on the long list of 'busy-work' chores that have been postponed for months… all the “I’ll do that when shows are done”, stuff! Top of my list is a re-do of my website, certain sections of which have been broken for a while and I haven’t had the time to fix them. I'm building a completely new site... hopefully it won't be too long before it's up and running! In between the chores I've been doing some more nuno felting in the studio...here are 2 new ones.
I love dangly things and, inspired by the colors our leaves are starting to turn, couldn’t resist having some funky leaves hanging off the edge of this one.
Next, I decided to try out no color at all. On this shawl I gathered as many different textures of white or off-white fibers I could find in my studio and worked them into a swirly pattern. The fringe is white yarn with shimmery accents - very pretty but unfortunately I couldn't get the shimmers to show in the photos.
I really like this white on white! What do you think?
These pieces will soon be available at Going Local NC in Raleigh... another new venue for me... more on that later.
If you fancy one of these in your wardrobe but are not in the Raleigh area, contact me and I'd be glad to create a similar piece for you!
