When choosing colors for scarves, I don't usually pay that much attention to what the fashion police declare are the colors for a particular season, but this spring I'm conforming a bit! I decided to use mostly the color combinations from Pantone's Spring 2014 color report. I'm using the colors from both the women's and the men's color charts, shown below (courtesy of Pantone's website).
Turns out I like this more than I anticipated and I'm using color palettes that I don't normally consider! For example, painting with grey rarely crosses my mind... maybe occasionally in winter. But I found that I really like the combination of pale grey with these other colors, even for spring.

Unfortunately I just couldn't make my camera capture some of the colors correctly. The worst culprit was Radiant Orchid, which looks way too magenta-y in the photos.... but still you get an idea. (Radiant Orchid, a light pinky-purple with a hint of grey, is anointed 'Color of the Year' by Pantone - maybe that's why it's acting like a diva? )
What do you think? Do you like these color palettes?
