The previous post showed the beginnings of this pair of commissioned batik paintings - now here are the results! First, here's a reminder of the final stage of painting, when the silk is all covered with wax and cracked. Dyeing over the cracks creates random lines that give the pieces a more organic feel.
And now with the dyes set and the wax removed...

They are framed in gold floater frames, which set the colors off very nicely.
