Last Sunday was the opening of my exhibition in Barbados, 'The Magic of Silk'. I wasn't sure at first how the combination of paintings and wearables would look, but the display turned out really well. We hung paintings mostly on free-standing panels, while the scarves and wraps adorned the walls. After toying with several ideas, I came up with the solution of displaying the wraps on pretty velvet hangers and tied in different ways, while the narrower scarves were hung from rods, like wall hangings.
I sold several scarves/wraps (some before the show opened) and a few smaller paintings at the opening.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual tour of my exhibition! If you're in Barbados this winter, please visit the Gallery of Caribbean Art in Speightstown. My exhibition runs until January 10th and any unsold work will remain at the gallery to be displayed on rotation throughout the year.
