On Tuesday, nine of the Piedmont Silk Painters got together to do a little batiking on pieces of cotton. Suzanne Connors led our session. Some used pre-mixed batik wax and others used soy wax. I much prefer the soy wax since the fumes from the batik wax irritate my lungs.
We used brushes and various other tools to apply the hot wax.
My final step would be to paint on another layer of wax, crack it and use some dark dye to create a crackled design... but that's a project for another day.
