Here are a couple of recent itajime (clamped resist) shibori scarves. With both of these scarves I folded the silk accordian style and used various clamped shapes to create a resist, similar to the ones in this post. (I really must do better at remembering to take photos as I go along)!
I love the kaleidoscopic flower-like designs you get with this technique. And it's so interesting how each 'section' turns out just a bit differently.
This sheer chiffon scarf was one that I had previously dyed in fuchsia and orange but I didn't like the result. So I folded/clamped it and overdyed with dark purple. I'm lovin' it now!
Both of these scarves are available for purchase in my ArtFire store. I'm running a Christmas in July sale over there this month, so go get something fun and unique for Christmas!
