Finished! White and yellow orchids float on a burgundy background. Some of the petals seem to disappear into the white parts of the background, which I think is pretty cool.
And here's a close up - it shows the sheen of the silk a bit better. This is silk jacquard, which alternates between a shiny and flat pattern. It's the most wonderful, shimmery looking thing when it's dyed.
This is my new best friend Betsy, who has graciously agreed to model my scarves. Found her on ebay! Any photographers reading this - is there a way to eliminate the double shadows behind her? I have 2 floodlights on either side of her at a 45 degree angle. This set up works fine for photographing flat artwork, but obviously there's something else I need to do for a 3-D model. I'd appreciate any ideas!
