Shibori #366

49.00

Shibori is a Japanese resist technique of painting or dyeing fabric.  I fold, twist and bind my scarf in various ways to create different patterns, depending on how the silk is manipulated before painting.  Movement of the dyes results in all conceivable mixtures of the colors applied. It's an exciting process, as I don't know exactly how the design will turn out until I unwrap my dyed silk!

Colors in this scarf: Coral, tangerine, turquoise, lime

Type of silk: Paj - semi sheer, shimmery, very lightweight

Size: 11 x 60 in. (28 x 152 cm)
