Last weekend was Raleigh North Carolina's largest outdoor arts festival. Artsplosure is held in and around a downtown park and is a really pleasant setting and atmosphere. Artist booths are set up around the periphery of the park, with entertainment and kid's activities taking place in the park itself. We were blessed with just about perfect weather, Tropical Storm Alberto having decided to hold off until late Sunday night when everything was over. Here's a tiny slice of the festival...
Community weaving project. This started as an empty lattice. Colored streamers were on hand for people to weave onto it. This was right behind my booth and it was interesting to watch it develop.
There were several craft activities for young and old kids
There were musical performances...
...and acrobatic ones
The sand sculpture is always a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately some idiots destroyed some of it on Saturday night but it was all put back together on Sunday.
In spite of having a small painting and some scarf clips stolen from my booth, overall it was a good weekend for me and I look forward to Artsplosure 2013.
Thanks for joining me today... have a great weekend!
